So what happened?

When I was thinking there was a spider on the napkin, my fight or flight response kicked in and the chemicals that go with it flooded my body. Once I saw that it was nothing harmful, my thoughts naturally changed and I calmed down. This clearly shows how it’s not things outside of us (such as a spider or a mean person) that cause us fear, but our thoughts about those things.

This is the kind of real life example I want you to start noticing in your in your own life. They're happening all around you everyday. In fact, before reading on, can you think of a situation, such as my "tomato stem spider," where you thought something was scary, only to find out it was really nothing at all? I hope you will try to think of one, as it will help you see the truth in what's coming next.
